Scholarship Awards will be Announced at the Annual Family Scholarship Banquet
We, the members of the Jones-Orr Scholarship Foundation, Inc. (JOSF) Board of Directors are proud to announce the 2026 JOSF Scholarship program. The Jones-Orr Scholarship Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit corporation established in the State of Florida in 2014. Our primary purpose is to provide our family’s high school seniors financial assistance for post-secondary education leading to a college degree or certified vocational training in a specialized trade or craft. The objective is to provide financial incentives to our high school graduates in recognition of their high school accomplishments and to encourage them to pursue post-secondary education.

Scholarship Program “Requirement Checklist”
- Provide a brief letter of introduction for the Jones-Orr Scholarship Foundation Selection Committee. Tell us about you; share your goals and aspirations, career objectives, and how the scholarship award will assist you as you begin your post-secondary education.
- Review the JOSF Qualification/Eligibility page to confirm your eligibility. Carefully review and complete your scholarship application package. Finally, submit the completed package which includes only pages 4–7; along with your intro letter and support documents, see item #6 below.
- Prepare a 500-word essay (must not exceed 600 words) on the topic specified below. The essay should be double-spaced, using a standard 12-pitch font (you will be penalized if you do not adhere to the specified formatting requirements). Develop your essay, consider ideas or thoughts that may be beneficial in the pursuit of your education. Elaborate on how you will work to achieve in spite of challenges. Be positive in your discussion such that it encourages others to achieve. The essay must be originally composed by the applicant without the aide of any computer generated (AI) text. Your topic will be provided in the application.
- Provide support documentation for your community services and/or the extra-curriculum high school activities. Use “Addendum A,” to provide appropriate community service support documentation for items such as, letters from organization, documentation noting your attendance and/or describing your activities, assignments, participation, and etc.
- Your school must email or mail your official transcript. For informational purposes, you may provide us an unofficial copy of your transcript for the committee to consider. However, the final assessment of your application will be on hold, pending receipt of the official transcript from your high school. - Your completed JOSF scholarship application must be received no later than July 5 (of the current year). The preferred submission method is by email to, JonesOrr.Family@comcast.net. However, if it is mailed, it should be sent to the address above; and, must be received (not just postmarked) by July 5 (of the current year). Otherwise, your application may not be considered.
